Skimming

Skimming to plasterboard or existing plaster providing a seamless finish for decoration.

Float and set

Either sand and cement renders or gypsum backing plaster are trowelled directly on to brick or blockwork. Both are finished with plaster ready for decoration.

Skimming over artex ceiling

This involves scraping back any high spots on artex, seal with pva then skimming with finishing plaster.

Over boarding

Plasterboard is fixed over existing ceiling.

Drywall partitions

Plasterboard is fixed to a stud framework. This can be used to divide rooms and box in pipes.

Dot and dab

Plasterboard is bonded on to a solid wall then skimmed or taped and jointed.

Tape and joint

Two coats of filler are applied to plasterboard joints only.
When dry, sanded to a finish ready for decoration.
